Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire Primary

In the past week Representative Ron Paul has staked some very important claims: The first said stake was taking a strong 3rd place in the Iowa Caucus, held on the 3rd of this month. While "strong third" sounds meek, it is notable that after the tight race between Governor Mitt Romney (30,015) and Senator Rick Santorum (30,007), Dr. Paul was only 3,700 votes behind while maintaining 10,000 votes over Speaker Newt Gingrich who placed fourth.

The second claim was Dr. Paul's second place finish in the New Hampshire Primary, held this past Tuesday on the 10th. Second place in the "Live Free or Die" state is a mild disappointment, but second place nonetheless! Governor Romney took 39.4% of the vote by a wide margin of 16.6%, with Dr. Paul bringing in 22.8% and Governor Jon Hunstman 16.8%.

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd in Manchester, Ron Paul claimed that New Hampshire was not just a victory for Mitt Romney, but a victory for liberty that will not go unnoticed. "I think the intellectual revolution that's going on now to restore liberty in this country is well on its way, and there's no way they're going to stop the momentum that we have started."

Amid a fiery speech on topics of the monetary system, cutting the budget and ending the wars, the crowd responded with chants of "President Paul!", "End the Fed!" and "Bring them home!"

And, a new chat rose out of the applause and excitement:

"Ron Paul Revolution, bring us back our Constitution!"

If we have learned one this this past week, it is this: FREEDOM IS POPULAR. Onward to South Carolina!

GOP delegate count: Romney, 12; Paul, 10; Santorum, 7; Hunstman, 2; Gingrich, 2; Perry, 2.
